Hormonal contraceptives (Part 1)

February 15th, 2007 by webmaster

Only 15 % of women prefer contraceptive tablets. Hormonal tablets have appeared only about 10-15 years ago, and, as all the new, have been apprehended with mistrust and vigilance. The majority of female fears are strongly exaggerated, especially if to speak about hormonal preparations of the third generation.
Difficulties of a choice
The combined oral contraceptives (COCs) may be monophase, biphasic and three-phase. Monophase COCs contain a constant doze of hormones: what a tablet you have taken, quantity of operating substances in it same, as well as in previous. Biphasic COCs simulate ovulation, therefore the first 10 tablets contain an estrogen, and in minimum quantities, and the others 11 - progestin component. So biphasic preparations need to be taken precisely under the scheme and to not to be changed at all their sequence. Three-phase contraceptives gradually increase a doze of gestations and estrogen, leading up it up to a maximum in the middle of a cycle and reducing before the menses. It is difficult to say which of these medicines works more effectively, in fact each woman has her own particular features the cycle. For example, if the organism has got used to strong hormonal jump in the middle of a cycle, the monophase preparations calculated on menses cycle without differences, will not approach it. The three-phase COCs are more often subscribed to such ladies - they allow direct the ovulation under that regime to which the organism has got already used.
